Request a password reset

Use the password-recovery form to request a reset email for your Driver account. The Driver App submits the request; the reset link and password change are owned by the configured email and web experience.

Availability

On the password sign-in form, select Forgot your password?. The link is not shown while the one-time-code sign-in tab is selected.

You need the email address associated with the Driver account and access to its inbox. The Driver App does not reset the password on this screen.

Before you start

Check the email address carefully before submitting. Selecting Recover Password sends a recovery request and can create a reset record and queue an email-provider job.

The button can change to Link Sent immediately after local validation, before the API response or email work has settled. Do not treat that label as proof that an email was delivered.

Complete the task

  1. From password sign-in, select Forgot your password?.
  2. Enter the account email in Email. The field requires a valid email format and removes spaces and unsupported characters as you type.
  3. Select Recover Password once.
  4. Wait for the loading indicator and any toast message to settle. If the request returns an error, the form makes Recover Password available again.
  5. Check the account inbox and spam or junk folder after a reasonable wait.
  6. If a recovery email arrives, verify that it is expected for your organization before opening its link. Complete the password change in the destination opened by that email.

The destination, link lifetime, and final password-change steps can vary by the configured site. They are not completed inside the Driver App.

Verify the result

These observations prove different things:

ObservationWhat it provesWhat it does not prove
Link SentThe form accepted the locally validated submission and started its handlerAPI acceptance, email creation, provider delivery, or password change
Success toastThe app received a response without an error from the request layerThe queued email job finished or the inbox received it
Recovery email in the inboxA provider delivered a message to that inboxThe link is still valid or the password has changed
Sign-in works with the new passwordA later authentication attempt accepted those credentialsThat every prior session or device was revoked

If the result is unclear, do not submit repeatedly. Wait, verify the email address, and follow your organization's support process.

Troubleshooting

  • If the email is reformatted while typing, recheck the complete address before selecting Recover Password.
  • If Link Sent appears immediately, keep waiting for the request result; do not assume the email exists yet.
  • If the app reports an error, avoid rapid retries because recovery requests can be rate limited.
  • If the message does not arrive, check spam or junk and confirm you are using the account's email. Do not share passwords or recovery links with support.
  • If the received link is expired, unexpected, or opens an unfamiliar domain, stop and use your organization's approved support channel.
