# Customers

Use **Users > Customers** in the Ordering.co Dashboard to find customer accounts, review the information returned in the list, and open an individual customer record when you need more context. The area is intended for administrator access. A visible menu item, row, field, or action does not by itself confirm that an account is authorized to read or change the underlying data.

> **Handle customer data carefully**
>
> Customer lists can contain names, contact details, addresses, verification state, loyalty information, order counts, and other personal or operational data. Follow your organization's privacy and access policies before searching, exporting, opening, or changing a record.

## Find customers

The list separates **Active** and **Inactive** accounts. Use the quick filters to narrow the current view:

- **All**
- **No orders**
- **With orders**
- **With 5 or more orders**

Use the search field to look up a customer by phone number. The list can show an ID, user name, phone, type, number of orders, and an account action. A row, a **New** marker, a verification label, or an order count is information returned by the Dashboard; it is not independent proof of a person's identity, account ownership, permission, order fulfillment, payment, or notification receipt.

### Use advanced filters

Select the filter control next to search to refine the list. Depending on your Dashboard configuration, the dialog can include:

- customer ID or external ID;
- first name, last name, or email;
- an order-count condition and value;
- phone or email verification state;
- sign-up date; and
- loyalty level.

Apply only the filters needed for the task, then review the returned set before taking any account action. Clearing or applying a filter changes the list query; it does not verify the accuracy or completeness of every returned record.

## Review a customer record

Select a customer to open the detail view when the list does not provide enough context. The detail view can expose profile fields, saved places, orders, custom fields, wallet information, and other configured data. Opening a detail view is separate from viewing a row, and each tab can be subject to its own authorization and data-availability checks.

Use [View and edit a customer](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/users/view-edit-customer/) for the detail workflow. Customer profile data is separate from the contact snapshot stored on an individual order. Use [Edit customer contact information on an order](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/orders/edit-customer-contact-information/) when the correction belongs only to that order.

## Export customer data

The **CSV** action requests a customer-data export for the active list and any applied filters. Treat this as a private-data and outbound-communication action. The request can create an asynchronous export process and use the requesting account's configured email address.

Before requesting an export:

1. Confirm that you are authorized to disclose the selected data.
2. Review the active/inactive view and filters so the requested scope is intentional.
3. Confirm the requesting account's email and your organization's approved handling location.
4. Record the request through your approved audit process.

An acknowledgement in the Dashboard means the request received a response. It does not prove that a file was generated, that it contains the intended rows, that an email was delivered or received, or that the data was retained securely. Verify the export through the approved operational process before relying on it.

## Create, enable, or delete accounts

The list also exposes high-impact account actions:

- **Add user** begins creation of a new account.
- The **Enable** control sends a request to change an account's active state rather than waiting for a profile save.
- **Delete** can remove a selected account after confirmation.
- A bulk deletion can affect eligible accounts even when another selected account is protected and causes an error.

Confirm the exact account, authorization, and intended scope before using any of these actions. Do not retry a failed bulk delete simply because an error was shown: some eligible accounts may already have changed. A confirmation or success message is not proof of identity, permission, downstream notification, or a complete business outcome; use the appropriate audit and account-review process to verify the result.

## Use customer information responsibly

Customer records can help support customer service, targeted outreach, data analysis, and configuration-driven custom fields. Use only the minimum data needed for the operational task. A listed contact method does not establish that the customer owns it or that a message was delivered; an order count does not establish payment, delivery, or a business result; and a loyalty or wallet value does not establish a settled balance or a successful payment.

For a separate loyalty configuration workflow, see [Points wallet and levels](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/addons/points-wallet-levels/). For route and role context, see [Dashboard roles and route access](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/users/roles-permissions-reference/).
