# Stores overview

Use **Stores** to find the stores available to your account, review their status, and open the appropriate store workspace. Keeping multiple stores in one place helps you organize daily work, compare their status, and move to the detail or catalog task you need.

The Stores list is a navigation and management surface. Opening it, seeing a store, or seeing an action does not by itself create a catalog, synchronize a provider, make a store available to customers, or confirm an order outcome.

> **Availability**
>
> The `/stores/list` route accepts level-0 administrators and level-2 business managers. The Stores sidebar is separately hidden from read-only administrator, delivery-manager, and business-owner classifications. Actions and columns can also vary by role, enabled features, project configuration, and store ownership.

## Open Stores

1. In the Dashboard sidebar, select **Stores**.
2. Select **Stores** to open the list.

A direct route and a visible sidebar entry are separate checks. If the list is available, work only with stores you are authorized to review or manage.

## Review the store list

The list provides a central view of the stores you can access. Review the store rows, their visible status controls, and the information available in your project before opening a record.

Use this view to coordinate multiple locations, identify the store that needs attention, and move to its relevant workflow. Store-level performance, customer activity, and operational decisions require the applicable details or reporting workflow; the list alone is not a complete performance report.

## Choose the view that fits the task

When both options are available, use the list view for rows and page controls, or use the card view for a visual scan of the returned stores. Changing the view changes how the available data is presented; it does not change the store or its catalog.

For detailed guidance on Search, filters, columns, and pagination, see [Search, filter, and organize stores](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/stores/search-filter-stores/).

## Check active and inactive stores

Select **Active** or **Inactive** to change the set of enabled or disabled stores shown in the list. Review the selected view before taking a permitted store-status action.

An active or inactive list state describes the returned Dashboard record. It does not independently establish customer-facing availability, current operating hours, delivery eligibility, or whether a customer can add a product to a cart.

## Start a store setup workflow

If **Add new store** is available, select it to begin an authorized store-setup workflow. Confirm the intended store before proceeding: adding a store can write configuration and lead to follow-on menu, delivery, payment, or external-service steps.

Use [Add a store](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/stores/add-store/) for the full setup procedure. If the menu-start options include **Import Menu**, use [Import a menu from Ordering Network](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/stores/import-menu-from-ordering-network/) for that separate request-and-review flow.

## Understand list actions and outcomes

Opening Stores can start authenticated reads for the active store list and country and city metadata. The page can also read inactive stores and plugin-dependent feed state. Search, filters, view changes, pagination, and **Refresh** can issue additional reads; this guide does not treat any request as a safe runtime probe.

- **Refresh** requests the current list again. It does not prove that a menu or provider catalog has synchronized.
- **Import**, **Sync**, feed-channel, and add-store actions can begin writes or external handoffs. A visible action is not evidence that its configured service is available.
- Selecting a store can lead to detail and catalog work. Confirm the intended record before using a write-capable control.

> **Some list controls change data**
>
> Selecting stores can expose bulk update, delete, or status-change controls. Import, sync, feed-channel, and add-store actions can also modify data or send it to external services. Review the selected stores and intended action before proceeding.

## Common uses

- **Multi-store management:** Use one list to identify and open the stores that need operational attention.
- **Store review:** Compare visible status and store information before moving to the applicable catalog, configuration, or reporting workspace.
- **Resource planning:** Use the selected store and its approved operational data to coordinate staff, inventory, or marketing work; the Stores list does not allocate resources automatically.
- **Expansion planning:** Use the stores you can review as a starting point for an approved expansion decision, then validate the required store configuration separately.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why is an action, filter, or column missing?

Stores adapts to route access, read-only classifications, ownership, enabled features, and project configuration. A direct route and a visible sidebar entry are separate checks.

### Why can't I add another store?

The add-store action can be hidden by your permissions, the intended project configuration, or the current store-setup conditions. A visible Stores list does not grant create access.

### Does a visible store mean customers can order from it?

No. Customer-facing availability depends on the applicable store configuration, schedule, catalog, product settings, and runtime conditions. A list record or status control alone does not establish a cart, order, or customer outcome.
