Plan a Mailchimp connection
This note prepares a project-specific scope discussion. It is not a Dashboard setup guide and does not confirm that Mailchimp is connected, that customer data or events are synchronized, or that a Mailchimp account is configured for any Ordering.co project.

Share the project details the Ordering.co team needs to evaluate:
- The Ordering.co project and businesses or storefronts in scope.
- The Mailchimp account and audience the project wants to evaluate, and who owns them.
- The customer fields and record identity the team wants reviewed.
- The direction of any proposed data flow. Treat this as a question for scoping; no direction is confirmed here.
- Any customer activity the team wants considered as an event, such as an order or loyalty interaction. These are examples for review, not confirmed events sent by Ordering.co.
- How the project collects email and, if relevant, SMS marketing choices; which system records each choice; and how opt-outs must be reflected.
- The project behavior that should be checked before relying on a scoped connection.
These are scope questions, not a statement of supported fields, events, or connection behavior. Do not send passwords, secret keys, or other credentials in a support message.
Keep Mailchimp concepts separate from Ordering.co behavior
Mailchimp documents audiences, audience contacts, contact subscription states, and events for activity outside email. Its documentation describes the provider's own capabilities; it does not show that Ordering.co transfers customer details, order or loyalty activity, or marketing choices to Mailchimp.
Mailchimp requires permission for email marketing and distinguishes email and SMS subscription states. Confirm how a project collects and maps each choice before discussing marketing use. A customer record or order does not itself establish marketing permission.
