# Payment reports

Use **Payment reports** to review the payment-report view available to your Dashboard access. The page can organize reports by business or provide a general report view, helping you inspect returned invoices, periods, and authorized exports in the context you select.

> **Use payment reports as current views**
>
> Invoice details, totals, fees, adjustments, refunds, deposits, provider fields, payment methods, and time periods are returned views that can change with the selected business, period, access, configuration, provider data, or underlying record. They are not a live, complete, settled, financial, tax, or legal record.

## Open Payment reports

In the Dashboard, open **Reports** and select **Payment reports**. The page may offer **Reports by business** and **General report**. What you can see or download depends on your access and the current reporting, payment-method, and provider configuration for the project.

The image is an illustrative interface example. It does not show an invoice, a payment method, a billing period, a file, or financial data, and it does not confirm current access or export availability.

## Choose the report context

### Reports by business

Use **Reports by business** when you need to focus on one business. Select the business first, then review the information the current view returns for that selection. An empty state can mean that the selected context does not return records; it does not establish that no records exist elsewhere.

### General report

Use **General report** when an authorized view across businesses is available. The periods offered by this view can depend on the payment method’s configured cycle, such as a weekly or monthly cycle. Do not assume that a period, gateway, calculation, field, or file format is the same across every project or business.

## Review invoices and payment history carefully

When the selected context returns invoices or payment history, review the business, date range, and report mode before interpreting a value. The returned information can include items such as orders, payment methods, fees, adjustments, refunds or claw-backs, totals, deposits, and timestamps. Which fields appear, how they are calculated, and whether a record is available depend on the current view and configuration.

Use the report to investigate the selected context. Before making an accounting, payout, tax, legal, or contractual decision, verify the relevant records and follow the current authorized finance process.

## Export a report when it is authorized

An authorized payment-report view may provide a PDF payment-history export for a selected business and date range, or a CSV export for a general report. Export availability, file names, file contents, and successful download behavior can depend on the selected business, period, payment method, gateway, provider, and access.

Before you export:

1. Confirm the active report mode, business, timezone or date range, and billing period.
2. Confirm that you have permission to access and share the report.
3. Review the values in the current view before treating an export as a reporting snapshot.
4. Handle the file according to your organization’s financial-data and retention practices.

Do not infer a fixed CSV schema from the interface. Provider- or configuration-controlled formatting can change the fields returned in a file.

## Keep financial configuration separate from reporting

This guide covers reviewing reports. It does not provide instructions for creating or changing fee rules, recurring charges, manual credits or charges, payment accounts, bank details, payout schedules, or provider connections. Those actions can affect financial operations and depend on current authorized configuration, permissions, provider requirements, and finance policy.

If a report contains a fee, adjustment, provider label, or payout-related value that you do not recognize, verify the selected business and period first, then use the current authorized finance workflow to resolve the question. Do not change a configuration only to make a report match an expectation.

## Work from a controlled reporting view

For a careful review:

1. Start with the business or general-report context that matches the question.
2. Record the selected period and report mode with any note or export you share internally.
3. Treat totals and line items as values returned for that context, not as universal or final balances.
4. Recheck the current view if the business, payment method, provider, reporting configuration, or billing period changes.
5. Escalate missing, unexpected, or sensitive financial information through the authorized project process.

## If a report or export is unavailable

If you cannot see an invoice, period, report mode, PDF, or CSV option:

1. Confirm the selected business and report mode.
2. Check the active period and any payment-method context shown by the page.
3. Confirm that your Dashboard access includes the relevant report and export.
4. Ask a project administrator to review current reporting configuration and access when the expected view is unavailable.
