# Gift card manager

Use **Gift card manager** to review gift-card records by status. It is an operational and transaction-sensitive overview, not a place to test card issuance, redemption, or customer delivery.

> **Availability**
>
> Gift card manager is available to Dashboard administrators when the **Gift cards** add-on is enabled. If the add-on is not enabled for your project, the `/gift-cards` route is not available.

## Review card status records

1. Open **Gift card manager**.
2. Select **Pending** to review cards with pending or sent status, or **Redeemed** to review activated cards.
3. Use **Search** only when necessary. It matches card ID and purchaser name, email, or phone.
4. Use page navigation to review additional records.

The current table shows ID, purchaser, redeemer, purchased date, and redeemed date. It does not display the card code/password, amount, recipient, wallet balance, or card message in the reviewed list view.

> **Personal and value-sensitive data**
>
> Gift-card responses can include purchaser, recipient, and redeemer contact information as well as transaction and order data. Use a synthetic fixture for screenshots and support examples. Never share card codes, passwords, balance/value, emails, phone numbers, addresses, messages, or real customer identities.

## Understand status and balance boundaries

The **Pending** tab shows pending and sent cards; **Redeemed** shows activated cards. Redeeming a card can validate its status, create or use a wallet, record a wallet movement, update the wallet value, activate the card, and trigger wallet events. These effects depend on the project and payment configuration. Only redeem a card as part of an authorized transaction.

Do not infer a card’s balance from this page. The manager does not display balances, codes, passwords, or a manual status switch. It also does not provide the reviewed UI controls to create, send, redeem, or delete an individual card.

Opening or searching the manager retrieves gift-card records using the selected status and optional purchaser search. Results can include personal and transaction data, so use the list only for an authorized operational task. The manager list does not provide actions to create, send, redeem, or delete individual cards.

## Use Setup Gift Cards with care

**Setup Gift Cards** opens a separate configuration panel for gift-card platform products. That panel can contain name, amount, image, enabled state, and Save/Add/Delete actions.

> **Setup changes are live**
>
> Saving a platform product, toggling its enabled state, uploading an image, or deleting it changes live configuration. Do not open or use these controls merely to inspect production values. Follow your approved catalog/configuration process.

The image picker currently accepts PNG, JPEG, and JPG files up to 2 MB before its crop step. That client-side check is not a guarantee of every server-side validation or customer-facing presentation.

The settings shown here do not confirm card delivery, redemption, wallet value, notifications, or what customers see. Check each result in the project before relying on it.

## Troubleshooting

### Why is Gift card manager unavailable?

The Gift cards add-on must be enabled and you must be a Dashboard administrator. Ask an administrator to verify add-on availability rather than trying a direct route.

### Why is a card in Pending rather than Redeemed?

Pending includes cards that are pending or sent. A card becomes activated only through the redemption process after its validation and wallet checks succeed.

### Can I use this page to find a card balance or code?

No. The reviewed list does not show balance, code, or password. Treat those values as sensitive and use your approved customer-support or financial process when they are required.
