# Manage Ordering Website

Ordering Website brings together the settings used to shape a marketplace, franchise, or single-store website. Use it to set the site’s identity and theme, control presentation details, update homepage and footer content, manage a custom domain, and embed an ordering widget where the selected site supports it.

> **Work carefully with website settings**
>
> Website settings can load site, theme, business, and franchise data. When configuration is mismatched, the experience can align a site code or type. Use a non-production project when practicing this workflow, and do not make changes unless you are authorized to affect the selected website.

## Choose the right module

| Module | Use it to |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Basic Settings](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/my-products/ordering-website-2/settings/) | Set the website name, description, domain, theme, imagery, colors, homepage content, and footer content. |
| [Advanced Settings](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/my-products/ordering-website-2/settings/#advanced-settings) | Control buttons, typography, placeholder imagery, the header, business listings, page blocks, checkout, account and order surfaces, menu options, order-type prompts, and third-party code. |
| [Ordering Widget](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/my-products/ordering-website-2/widget/) | Choose a modal button, chat-style, or inline ordering experience for an eligible site. |

The modules let you tailor the customer-facing presentation to the business model. Review the controls available for the selected site instead of assuming every module, theme, tab, or widget is present.

## Start with Basic Settings

Confirm the selected site before editing. Basic Settings can include:

- **Name** and **Description** for the website.
- A generated temporary/default domain and the custom-domain workflow.
- **Website Theme**, including Marketplace, Franchise, or Single Store when those choices are available.
- Background and primary-button colors.
- **Homepage Content** and **Footer Content** editors.
- Customer-facing images.

The editor presents these image recommendations:

| Asset | Recommended size |
| -------------------------- | ---------------- |
| Site Logo | 512 × 512 |
| Header Logo | 900 × 200 |
| Header mobile logo | 512 × 512 |
| Site Image | 1920 × 1280 |
| Business Header | 1920 × 1280 |
| Homepage Mobile Background | 1440 × 770 |

Use JPEG, JPG, or WebP for these upload controls. Treat the displayed dimensions and formats as editor guidance, then confirm the saved presentation in an approved non-production site before publishing. The [settings guide](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/my-products/ordering-website-2/settings/) covers the available fields, examples, and screenshots in detail.

## Use Advanced Settings and widgets

Advanced Settings extends the visual and functional configuration beyond the basic site setup. It groups controls for buttons, typography, image placeholders and favicon, header and business listings, business and product blocks, cart and checkout, account and order pages, menu options, order-type prompts, and third-party code. Use the [Advanced Settings reference](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/my-products/ordering-website-2/settings/#advanced-settings) to review each category before changing it.

Ordering Widgets can provide a button with a modal, a chat-style window, or an inline ordering surface. The widget control is conditional: it is not shown for every site mode, including forced-site or franchise views. Do not copy settings between site types without confirming that the tab and control are available for the selected site.

> **Changes affect the selected site**
>
> **Save**, site or theme updates, media changes, homepage or footer content, and custom-domain requests, changes, or removals can affect a customer-facing website. Verify the selected site and review the result after saving; a request alone does not confirm that a change is active or complete.

## Common configurations

- **Launch a multi-vendor marketplace:** choose the Marketplace theme, establish the site identity, and use the business-listing controls to present participating businesses.
- **Configure a franchise site:** use the Franchise theme where available, align the header and business blocks with the locations you want customers to find, and confirm each location’s content separately.
- **Promote a single store:** choose the Single Store theme where available, then use the homepage, product block, imagery, and a suitable widget placement to highlight the store’s offering.
- **Improve customer interaction:** use a chat-style widget or modal only where it fits the site and the selected mode exposes the control; keep typography and buttons readable.
- **Review checkout presentation:** configure the cart header, checkout, and confirmation surfaces only after confirming the controls available in the selected theme.

## Domain and availability boundaries

Enter a custom domain without protocol or slashes. Confirm the selected site and domain before saving or removing it. Domain state can be pending validation, issued, error, revoked, cancelled, or expired; a requested domain is not proof that the domain or certificate is ready. See [Set up a custom domain](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/products/dashboard/my-products/ordering-website-2/custom-domain/) for the DNS and validation workflow.

### Why is a tab or site missing?

The sidebar item requires the `web_marketplace_26` product configuration. Route loading, tabs, widgets, and site choices are independently controlled; do not infer entitlement or readiness from a mounted route.

### What happened to the legacy website route?

The legacy `/my-products/ordering-website` route can remain available for level-0 accounts while `web_franchises_x` is not enabled. Website 2 appears when `web_marketplace_26` is enabled; it does not merge, redirect, or replace the legacy route. Treat the legacy workflow as separate, and confirm it in a non-production project before changing anything.

### Why is the custom domain not active?

Review its displayed lifecycle state and complete the approved DNS and validation process. A saved request is not proof that the domain or certificate is ready.
