# Understand introductory tutorial states

Customer App may show an introductory tutorial before a customer signs in. Availability and timing can vary by app version, project settings, and whether the tutorial was previously completed.

> **Availability**
>
> The tutorial may not appear in every app experience. Follow the options shown in your current app.

## Availability boundary

Whether the tutorial appears can depend on startup, sign-in, and prior completion. Account setup or other startup requirements may appear first.

| App state | What to expect |
| --------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Tutorial is not shown | It may be unavailable for this app version or account state. |
| Tutorial appears before sign-in | The slides provide an introduction; they do not complete account setup. |
| App is checking startup state | Wait for the current screen to finish loading before continuing. |
| Tutorial was completed previously | The app may skip it on a later launch. |
| Completion is unclear | Check the screen shown after the tutorial; do not repeat an action if the app is still responding. |

## Tutorial topics

The tutorial introduces:

1. Customer identity choices.
2. Business discovery.
3. Menu and business information.
4. Product discovery.
5. Checkout concepts.
6. Order-completion concepts.

The slides are orientation content only. They do not create an account, select a location or business, add a product, authorize payment, place an order, or prove any downstream capability.

## Controls are presentation, not outcomes

The tutorial may show **Next**, **Skip**, progress dots, and a final **Let's start!** control. Available controls and their layout can vary by device, language, and app version.

| Control or state | What to expect |
| --------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| First slide | **Skip** may be available. |
| Later slide | **Skip** may no longer be shown. |
| Next or swipe | Advances through the introduction. |
| Progress dots | Show progress through the slides; their appearance may vary by device. |
| Final control | Closes the tutorial and continues into the app. |
| App does not continue | Wait for the screen to respond before trying again. |

## Finishing the tutorial

Finishing the tutorial only closes the introduction. It does not create an account, select a location or business, add a product, authorize payment, or place an order. If the app does not continue, wait for it to respond before repeating the final action.

## Variations and accessibility

Translated text, images, screen size, orientation, platform, and font scale can affect the presentation. Accessibility controls and behavior can vary by device and app version.

## Safe troubleshooting boundaries

| Observation | Safe disposition |
| --------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Tutorial absent | Continue with the sign-in or start options shown in the app. |
| A control is missing | Available controls can vary by app version and device. |
| Final action changes the screen | Wait for the next screen to finish loading before continuing. |
| Tutorial appears in an unexpected state | Close and reopen the app only after it has finished responding. |
| Text or controls are difficult to use | Check device accessibility settings or contact support. |

When contacting support, describe what the app showed without sharing passwords, account details, or private screenshots.
