Request password recovery
Use password recovery when you cannot sign in with the email address associated with your Business App account. This step submits the email address only. It does not ask for your current password or a new password.
Before you start
- Open the Business App sign-in screen for the intended project.
- Use an email address that you are authorized to access.
- Work on a trusted device. The app can repeat the entered address in its confirmation or error message, so do not share screenshots of this screen.
Complete the task
- On the sign-in screen, select Forgot your password?
- In Email, enter the address associated with your account.
- Select Recover Password. The button shows a loading state while the request is processed.
- Wait for the loading state to finish. A completed non-error request shows a success message; an unsuccessful request shows an error.
Submitting the form requests recovery for the entered address. It does not confirm that a message was delivered or that a password has changed.
Verify the result
After loading finishes, the non-error success message confirms that the app observed an accepted service response. Link Sent can appear on the button before the request finishes, so that label alone is not confirmation. If a recovery message arrives, use only the link from the expected sender and project. Never send the link or its codes to another person.
The Business App cannot confirm provider delivery from this screen. If no message arrives, check the intended inbox and its filtered or junk folders before requesting another link.
Recover safely
| What you observe | What it means | Safe next action |
|---|---|---|
| The field Email is required | The form was submitted without an address. | Enter the intended account email and submit once. |
| Invalid email address | The address does not match the accepted email format. | Correct the address; do not enter a password in this field. |
| An account, limit, or service error | The request was not accepted, or configured request limits were reached. | Keep the message private. Stop repeated attempts and contact your project administrator if it continues. |
| Link Sent appears while the request is loading or without a success message | The button label alone does not confirm an accepted response. | Wait for loading to finish. Use the success message or error as the result. |
| A success message appears, but no recovery message arrives | The app observed a non-error response; delivery is still outside the app's confirmation. | Check the intended inbox and filters. Then ask your project administrator to verify recovery support for the project. |
| A link opens an unexpected project or domain | The message may not belong to the intended Business App project. | Do not enter a new password. Close the page and contact your project administrator. |
Availability and platform differences
Password recovery is available from the signed-out email or password flow. The link is not shown while the sign-in form is using its one-time-code tab. The request form accepts an email address; it does not offer recovery by SMS from this screen.
The reset page, message template, delivery timing, sender, and link destination can vary by project configuration and provider. A successful request in the app is not a delivery guarantee.
