Configure a saved printer
Use Printer Configure to review a Star Micronics or Epson model and save its device-local connection fields. A saved configuration is only a local entry. It does not prove that the model, address, interface, permission, driver, or printer is available, connected, reachable, or able to produce a ticket.

Do not select a search icon, approve a printer or Bluetooth permission, pair a device, connect hardware, or test output. Selecting a Star model while Bluetooth is active can start discovery automatically in the reviewed version. Stop before that selection unless an authorized hardware procedure is active.

Before you start
- Sign in to the intended workspace, open Profile > Printer Settings, then select Add printer or open an existing entry for editing.
- Obtain the intended model, nickname, paper width, and connection value from the person responsible for the printer. Do not copy real addresses or device identifiers into documentation or support messages.
- Record the existing saved entry before editing it. This guide has no verified local rollback receipt and does not authorize hardware or provider effects.
- If a Star model selection would occur while Bluetooth is active, stop. That selection can initiate native discovery even without selecting the search icon.
Complete the task
- Under Brand, choose Star Micronics or Epson, then review the
Select printer list for the intended model.
- Changing brand clears the current model and connection fields.
- Do not select a Star model while Bluetooth is active under this guide; that source branch can start discovery automatically.
- A model appearing in the list is not proof that the installed build, device, interface, or driver supports the attached printer.
- Enter a Nickname that identifies the intended local entry. Avoid line breaks and use plain letters, numbers, and spaces.
- Choose Paper width: 80 mm (Default) or 58 mm. This changes saved formatting input; it does not verify paper, printable width, or output.
- Under Connection type, review one supported source branch:
- Via Bluetooth: requires a nonempty Bluetooth port value before Save Printer is enabled. Use only the approved device value. Do not use the search icon or respond to a permission/pairing prompt from this guide.
- Via LAN / Wi-Fi: requires an IPv4 address in the visible field. Epson also warns that USB or serial hardware does not work through the network. Do not use discovery or treat a valid address as reachability proof.
- Via USB: appears for Epson. Saving this connection is available only on Android in the reviewed version; iOS displays an unavailable message and keeps Save Printer disabled. Do not search for a USB target or connect a cable from this guide.
- Review the local effect before selecting Save Printer. Saving rewrites the device-local printer list; an add can create another entry for the same model, and an edit replaces the entry at its stored position. The screen can return even when the local storage helper swallowed a write failure.
- Select Save Printer once, return to Printer Settings, leave and reopen it, and compare the nickname, model, and intended connection entry with the values you recorded. Do not enable automatic printing or attempt output as verification.
Verify the result
The configuration result is accepted only as local display intent when the reopened Printer Settings list shows the intended entry and no unexpected duplicate. This does not verify the underlying connection fields, because the list can show the nickname instead of the model and connection value.
Do not use a successful return, saved row, discovery message, provider message, or enabled Save Printer button as evidence of connectivity or output. An authorized hardware procedure must separately verify permissions, discovery, provider behavior, queue state, paper, and physical output.
Recover safely

Availability and platform differences
- The reviewed catalog separates Star Micronics and Epson model lists. Catalog membership is source-defined presentation, not installed-hardware support.
- Star configurations expose Bluetooth and LAN/Wi-Fi. Selecting a Star model while Bluetooth is active can automatically start Star discovery.
- Epson configurations expose Bluetooth, LAN/Wi-Fi, and USB. Epson Bluetooth discovery can open an iOS pairing sheet; Android Bluetooth discovery can require system permission. These effects are blocked in this guide.
- Epson USB configuration and output are Android-only in the reviewed version. iOS can show the option and its unavailable message but cannot save it.
- The Bluetooth field's visible form rule expects a device-style value, while the button gate does not enforce every form-rule character restriction. Use only an approved value; an enabled button is not validation or connectivity proof.
- The LAN field gate recognizes an IPv4 address. It does not test the network, port, printer, or provider.
