Use the tablet order workspace

On a sufficiently wide tablet layout, the Orders workspace keeps the order list on the left and the selected order on the right. This lets you move between orders without leaving the queue, while preserving the same account and business scope used for phone order data.

Before you start

  • Sign in to the Business App with access to the relevant project and business.
  • Open Orders on a tablet and use a wide layout. A narrow portrait layout can use the phone workspace instead.
  • Use a network connection when you need current order data. The split layout does not guarantee that the list or selected detail is fresh.

How the split workspace is organized

Area or stateWhat it showsWhen it appearsWhat to do next
Left sideQueue tabs, status filters, order cards, refresh, search, and paginationIn the wide tablet layoutSelect the queue and order you want to review.
Selected orderA highlighted card in the current queueAfter the list has an eligible order or you select oneConfirm the order number, business, fulfillment type, and status.
Right sideDetails for the selected orderAfter an order is selectedReview the order before using any available action.
StatusRealtime connection informationWhen the project configuration exposes it in this layoutTreat Connecting or Disconnected as a freshness warning.
Load more ordersThe next available page of the selected queueWhen another page existsLoad more without leaving the split workspace.

Selecting a card replaces the detail shown on the right; it does not open a new page. When you move to a queue that does not contain the selected order, the workspace can select the first available order in the new queue.

Keep list and detail aligned

  1. Select the intended queue and, when available, the status filter.
  2. Select an order card on the left.
  3. Match the order number and business on the card with the detail on the right.
  4. If the queue may be stale, refresh it and select the order again before making a decision.

Changing queues clears the current search criteria in the wide workspace. This helps return the list to the selected queue's normal scope, but it does not prove that a realtime update or provider event has arrived.

Verify the result

The intended order card is selected on the left and the matching order is shown on the right. After a refresh, confirm that its status and visible operational information still match the task you intend to perform.

Limits and variations

  • Tablet mode depends on device classification, orientation, and available width. Rotate the tablet or widen the app before assuming split view is unavailable.
  • Your account and business scope determine which orders the service returns.
  • Project configuration can change queue grouping and expose additional timing or connection controls. A frontend availability flag is not proof of a commercial plan or entitlement.
  • The list uses paginated server reads and can also receive source-intended realtime order events. This article does not claim provider delivery, deployed API equivalence, or runtime parity.
  • An alert can prompt you to review an order, but it does not prove that the left-side queue and right-side detail are current. Refresh and match them.
  • The right side is an operational detail view, not a second independent copy of the order. Refresh the queue when freshness matters.
