# Turn categories and products on or off

In the **Categories** and **Products** views, a business user turns a category, subcategory, or product on or off with its switch. The change applies to the business you have open.

## Turn a category, subcategory, or product on or off

1. Open the **Categories** or **Products** view for the business.
2. Select the switch for the category, subcategory, or product you want to turn on or off.
3. Look for a confirmation message: **Enabled category**, **Disabled category**, **Enabled product**, or **Disabled product**.

## If something goes wrong

If you see **Network Error** or **Sorry, no results found**, refresh or reopen the business and check the current state of the switch before trying again.

## Availability and limits

- The catalog can display categories, nested subcategories, products, searches, and enabled switches.
- Category search uses returned category and subcategory names. Product search and pagination depend on a server response.
- Enabled state is only one customer-availability input. Business, category, product, menu, schedule, snooze, inventory, and other rules can still affect customer ordering.
