Continue business management in Dashboard
The Businesses page keeps common business and catalog tasks in Business App and provides a web Dashboard handoff for additional settings. The handoff requests that your device open the complete address shown in the note. Business App does not construct or append the selected project, business, task, path, or return context, although the configured address may already contain context. The request does not prove that Dashboard opened, signed you in, or granted access.
Before you start
- Sign in to the intended project and select Businesses in the bottom navigation.
- Confirm the project and business you intend to manage before leaving the app.
- Use an approved browser and Dashboard account for your organization.
- Treat the address displayed in the note as project-configurable. Check that it is an expected secure Dashboard destination before opening it.
Choose the owning workspace
| Task | Continue in | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Find a business or review the returned business list | Business App | Results remain limited to the signed-in account's current scope. |
| Change whether a business is enabled | Business App | This is a separate remote update with its own access and result checks. |
| Open a business and manage category, subcategory, or product availability | Business App | Confirm the selected business before changing catalog availability. |
| Change a business setting that is not exposed by those native workflows | Web Dashboard | Business App passes the complete configured destination without constructing a task target. Inspect the address because its configuration may point to a general or context-specific Dashboard page. |
The note does not prove that every Dashboard setting is available to your account. Dashboard access, roles, project scope, business scope, and the settings shown there are owned by the Dashboard session.
How the handoff works
- Select Businesses. The page heading is Stores.
- Find the note that begins For more settings go to.
- Review the complete address displayed in the note. Do not continue if the destination is unexpected or is not an approved secure Dashboard address.
- Select the displayed address once.
- If your device opens an external app, verify the Dashboard project and business before changing anything.
The same complete configured value is used for the visible address and the open request. Business App does not construct or append the selected project, business, task, settings path, or return context. The configured value may already contain context, so inspect it and reconfirm the destination, project, and business in Dashboard before changing anything.
States and results
| What you observe | What it establishes | Safe next action |
|---|---|---|
| The note and address are visible | The Businesses page rendered the source-configured handoff | Review the address before selecting it. Visibility does not prove Dashboard access. |
| An external browser or another approved app opens | The device accepted the open request | Verify the destination, sign-in state, project, and business. This does not prove that the requested settings are available. |
| A Dashboard sign-in or project-selection page opens | The destination needs its own session or context | Sign in through your approved process, then choose the intended project and business. |
| Dashboard opens at a general or context-specific page | Business App passed the complete configured value without constructing or appending the selected native context | Inspect the destination and confirm the intended project, business, and task before changing anything. |
| Nothing opens or the destination is unavailable | The external handoff did not produce a usable destination | Stay in or return to Businesses. Do not keep selecting the link; use your organization's approved Dashboard entry or ask the project administrator to verify the configured address. |
| Dashboard denies access or omits a setting | The Dashboard session does not establish the required access or availability | Do not infer access from the Business App link. Ask the Dashboard administrator responsible for the project. |
Return to Business App
Return with your device's normal app-switching or back behavior. Business App does not receive a completion result from Dashboard and does not confirm that any web change succeeded.
After returning:
- Confirm that you are still in the intended project.
- Reopen Businesses if the page is no longer visible.
- Refresh or reopen the relevant native view before relying on business or catalog state.
- Verify consequential Dashboard changes in the workflow that owns them. Do not treat returning to the app as proof of completion or synchronization.
Variations and limits
- The handoff value can come from the current project and language's Business App translation configuration. When no matching value is available, the app uses its built-in fallback.
- The note is part of the Businesses page, not an entitlement or permission gate. A visible link does not prove that the signed-in operator can enter Dashboard.
- The app does not preflight the displayed address, report an open failure, track browser completion, or reconcile a web result when you return.
- Business App does not construct or append the selected project, business, task, settings path, or return context. The configured destination may already contain context; inspect and reconfirm it in Dashboard.
- Source evidence describes the handoff intended by the documented version. It does not attest the installed build, deployed configuration, browser behavior, Dashboard availability, or authentication state.
Troubleshooting
| What you observe | Interpretation | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| The displayed address looks unfamiliar or is not secure | The configured value may be wrong, stale, or inappropriate for your organization | Do not open it. Preserve the visible text and ask the project administrator to verify the Business App translation/configuration. |
| Selecting the address has no visible result | The device may not support the value, the destination may be malformed, or the external app may be unavailable | Return to Businesses and use the organization's approved Dashboard entry. Escalate the configured value; repeated taps do not prove progress. |
| The browser opens the wrong project or business | The configured destination or retained browser session does not match the intended native context | Stop before making changes. Inspect the destination, then switch to the intended Dashboard project and business through the approved Dashboard controls. |
| You return and the Business App view looks unchanged | No completion or refresh signal is sent back by the handoff | Reopen the relevant native view and verify its returned state. |
