Agent translations
Configure the text an AI agent uses in each available language.
Configure agent translations
Ordering.co AI addresses this challenge with the Agent Translations feature. This tool allows you to move beyond "robot-speak" and fine-tune exactly how your AI agents interact with users across different languages and platforms.
Use this feature to review the localized text used by a WhatsApp or web-based ordering assistant.
Step-by-step: how to customize your agent’s voice
Navigating the translation suite is designed to be intuitive. Here is how you can manage your global communications:
- Access the Translation Hub From your main Ordering.co dashboard, locate the Settings gear icon in the sidebar. Within this menu, click on Agent Translations. This opens the central workspace where all your agent's localized strings are housed.
- Select Your AI Agent: Not every agent serves the same purpose. Use the Agent dropdown menu to select the specific bot you wish to edit. You might have a dedicated agent for WhatsApp and another for your storefront. Selecting the agent allows you to see the specific phrases that the particular bot uses most frequently.
- Choose Your Target Language Once an agent is selected, use the Language toggle on the right. Switching from English to Spanish (or any other supported language) will instantly populate the fields below with the current translations.
- Edit and Refine Messaging The UI breaks down translations into specific categories, such as:
• Accuracy Levels: Define how the bot explains its confidence (e.g., "High" becomes "Alta").
• Action Commands: Customize buttons like "Add Card" to "Agregar Tarjeta."
• System Status: Update phrases like "Active Order" to "Orden Activa" to ensure the user knows exactly where they are in the process.
Tips, tricks, and best practices
To get the most out of your Ordering.co AI agents, keep these strategies in mind:
• Localization Over Translation: Don't just translate words; translate the intent. If a standard phrase in English feels too formal for your Spanish-speaking audience, feel free to use a more casual local equivalent that matches your brand's vibe.
• The "Copy" Shortcut: Use Copy from Another Agent to reuse translations, then review them in the destination agent's context.
• Watch the Character Counts: Use the count shown under each text box, such as 4/50, and preview long translations in chat bubbles and interface controls.
• Context is King: When translating technical terms like "Stripe test cards," ensure the translated version clearly explains that these are for testing purposes so users aren't confused during the checkout flow.
Conclusion
Review translated strings in context, keep them within the displayed character limits, and preview the agent before publishing the changes.
