# The test drive

Before you tell a single customer, place real orders yourself, on real phones, end to end. One hour of testing catches almost every launch-day problem while it is still private.

**Time:** 1 hour · **You need:** 3 phones or people

Gather three people (or three devices): one as the customer, one as the merchant with the Business App, and one as the driver with the Driver App. Run these orders in this order.

## Order 1 · Delivery, paid by card

1. **Customer:** open your website on a phone with mobile data, enter an address inside a zone, find the store through its category, add a product with options, and check the totals, fees, and taxes.
2. **Customer:** pay with a real card (or a test card if your gateway is still in testing mode).
3. **Merchant:** hear the alert, accept, set the prep time, and print the ticket if you use a printer.
4. **Driver:** receive the order (assigned by hand or automatically), accept, mark pickup complete, arrive, and complete the delivery.
5. **Customer:** confirm the status updates and notifications arrived, follow the driver on the map, and leave a review.
6. **You:** check the payment in your gateway, and the split if you use one.

## Order 2 · Pickup, paid in cash

Check that pickup skips the address, that cash is offered only where you want it, and that the order ends as picked up by the customer.

## Order 3 · Edge cases

- [ ] An address just outside every zone: delivery is refused, pickup still shows
- [ ] An order below the minimum: checkout explains the minimum
- [ ] A store outside its hours: it shows as closed, or offers pre-order
- [ ] A coupon: it applies once and respects its limits
- [ ] A refund: you know exactly how to do it before you need to
- [ ] A cancellation by the merchant: the customer is notified

> **Clean up after testing**
>
> Mark test orders as completed or cancelled so they do not clutter your reports, and switch your payment gateway out of testing mode before launch.

> **People often ask**
>
> **"What does the delivery time shown to the customer mean?"**
>
> It is the total estimate from order to door, not only the kitchen time. Set it per store based on real prep plus travel time, and adjust it after your first week of real orders.
