# Get merchants ready to receive orders

The best marketplace fails if a merchant misses an order. Set every merchant up with the Business App, a loud alert, and a printer if they need one.

## The merchant starter kit

Send every new merchant the same short package:

- [ ] Their business owner email and temporary password, and your **project name**
- [ ] Download links for the Business App on iOS and Android
- [ ] A one-page summary of your rules: prep times, accepting within a few minutes, what to do when an item is out of stock
- [ ] Who to contact at your marketplace for questions
- [ ] Your commission and payment schedule

## Set up the Business App

1. **Install it on a tablet or phone that stays at the counter.** A dedicated device works best; a personal phone in someone's pocket misses orders.
2. **Sign in** with the project name and the business owner login.
3. **Turn the volume up and allow notifications.** New orders play an alert until someone opens them.
4. **Practice the flow:** open a new order, accept it, set the preparation time, mark it ready.

> **Automatic acceptance**
>
> Busy merchants who accept every order can use automatic order acceptance. It accepts each order as it arrives; it does not assign drivers. Ask support to help you enable it if a merchant needs it.

## Printing tickets

The Business App prints kitchen tickets on supported printers, including many Star Micronics and Epson models, by Bluetooth or network. Android POS devices with built-in printers, such as Sunmi, can run the Business App and print directly. Turn on **auto print after accepting the order** so every accepted order prints without an extra tap.

## POS integration

Merchants that use **Square** can connect their POS from **Connect › POS & Menu Sync** and sync their menu, so they maintain it in one place. Clean the menu in Square first: the sync copies it as it is. For Clover, Toast, and other POS systems, ask support which options apply to your plan and region.

> **Real scenario: Ten minutes at the counter**
>
> When Northside Eats signs a merchant, a team member visits once: installs the Business App on the merchant's tablet, places a test order from a phone, and watches the staff accept it and print the ticket. Ten minutes in person saves a week of missed orders.
