# Brand your website

Your website is the first impression for customers and merchants. Logo, colors, images, a clear homepage, and your legal pages make it look like a real business from day one.

**Time:** 1 to 2 hours · **Where:** My Products › Ordering Website

## Basic settings

Open **My Products › Ordering Website**. In Basic Settings you set the site name and description, the theme (Marketplace), and your two main colors: background and primary button. Then upload your images:

| Image | Size (px) | Where it shows |
| -------------------------- | ----------- | --------------------------------- |
| Site logo | 512 × 512 | Browser tab and square placements |
| Header logo | 900 × 200 | Top of every page |
| Site image | 1920 × 1280 | Used when your link is shared |
| Homepage background | 1920 × 1280 | Hero area on desktop |
| Homepage mobile background | 1440 × 770 | Hero area on phones |

> **Use PNG for logos**
>
> Upload logos as **PNG with a transparent background**. A JPG logo carries a white box around it on colored headers. If you only have a JPG, remove the background with any free tool and export PNG. Also check each image carefully before saving: some image slots can be replaced but not cleared once uploaded.

## Advanced settings

Advanced Settings controls typography, button styles, the header (background color, logo position, language selector), which homepage blocks show, placeholder images for stores and products, and the favicon. It also has fields to add third-party code such as Google Tag Manager or a Meta pixel ([Chapter 34](https://docs.ordering.co/docs/discovery-ordering/launch-your-marketplace/part-7-grow/marketing-tools/)).

## Homepage content

The homepage content block is HTML, which gives you full freedom. You do not need to code it yourself:

1. **Ask an AI assistant to write it.** For example: "Write homepage content in HTML for Northside Eats, a food and grocery delivery marketplace in \[city]. Include a short headline, three benefits, a section for merchants who want to join, and an app download section. No header or footer."
2. **Open Homepage Content in your dashboard.** Go to **My Products › Ordering Website › Homepage Content** and switch to Code View.
3. **Copy the current code to a text file first.** That is your backup.
4. **Paste the new HTML, click Accept, then Save.** Refresh your website to see it.

The footer works the same way under Footer Content. Link your legal pages there, for example `<a href="/privacy-policy">Privacy</a>`.

## Legal and help pages

Create these in **Settings › CMS**. Each page has a name, a URL slug, SEO fields, and content. Your project may already include default pages, such as a privacy policy and terms, ready for you to edit.

- [ ] Privacy policy (needed for the app stores)
- [ ] Terms and conditions
- [ ] How account deletion works (needed for Google Play)
- [ ] Help with an order, with your support email or WhatsApp
- [ ] "Sell on Northside Eats": a page for merchants who want to join

## Words customers see

Every label in the website and apps can be edited in the **Language Manager** (**Settings › Language manager**). Pick the product (website, Customer App, Business App, Driver App), search for the text, and change it. Use it to match your tone, translate, or rename things, for example renaming a payment method to "Cash or card at the door".

> **Watch out**
>
> The Language Manager has no save button: changes save automatically as you type. Check which language is selected in the top corner before you edit.
