What your plan covers and what you arrange
Some pieces of a marketplace belong to outside companies: Apple, Google, your bank, your domain provider. Knowing who does what avoids surprises in week three.
Ordering.co handles
- Hosting, updates, and security of the platform
- Your dashboard, website, and apps
- Building your apps and guiding them through store submission
- The connections to payment gateways, maps, POS, and delivery partners
- Support through chat and tickets, plus the knowledge base
You arrange and own
- Apple Developer and Google Play Console accounts (Ch. 8)
- Your domain name (Ch. 10)
- Your Google Maps account and API key (Ch. 10)
- Your payment gateway account, such as Stripe or Mercado Pago (Ch. 19)
- Contracts with delivery partners, if you use them (Ch. 29)
- Your merchants, drivers, prices, fees, and marketing
Outside costs to plan for
These are paid directly to the third party, not to Ordering.co, and they set their own prices:
| Service | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Apple Developer Program | An annual membership paid to Apple (currently US$99 a year). |
| Google Play Console | A one-time registration paid to Google (currently US$25). |
| Domain name | A yearly fee to your domain provider. |
| Google Maps Platform | Google asks for a billing method. Usage is billed by Google according to its own pricing. |
| Payment gateway | Processing fees per transaction, charged by the gateway. |
| Delivery partners, SMS | Per-delivery or per-message fees, only if you use them. |
Your plan details
For what your specific plan includes, its order limits, and any optional services, check your plan page or ask the support team. This guide focuses on setup and leaves plan terms to your agreement.
People often ask
"Do I own my data?"
Your menus, stores, customers, and orders are yours. You can download your order and customer records from the dashboard. Chapter 38 shows how, and we recommend doing it every month so you always keep your own history.
