Four marketplace setups
The same platform runs very different businesses. Find the setup closest to yours and use it as your starting configuration. Businesses here are fictional illustrations.
1 · City food marketplace
Like: Northside Eats, with restaurants, cafés, and bakeries in one city.
- Categories: Restaurants, Fast food, Bakery & café, Healthy, Desserts.
- Stores: built by you from imported menus; one business owner per merchant.
- Zones: two or three layered circles per store, shared between stores in the same area.
- Payments: Stripe Connect split with a percentage commission; cash limited to delivery.
- Delivery: one in-house bike group with send-to-all dispatch, a partner as backup at peak times.
- Growth: WELCOME coupon, launch banners for new restaurants, loyalty levels.
2 · Grocery and local retail marketplace
Like: FreshCorner Market and other neighborhood shops delivering groceries and essentials.
- Menus: large catalogs loaded with Spreadsheet Mode and bulk images named by product ID.
- Options: weights and pack sizes as product options; maximum quantities per product.
- Schedules: pre-orders and delivery slots for next-day delivery.
- Delivery: a car group for large baskets; higher minimum orders in outer zones.
- Growth: free delivery above a basket size, cart recovery reminders.
3 · Courier company adding a marketplace
Like: Swift Couriers, which already delivers for local shops and now sells on its own brand.
- Strength: the fleet already exists. Advanced logistics with batching from day one.
- Merchants: current delivery clients become the first stores, with business signup open.
- Money: commission plus a delivery fee split with drivers through driver invoices.
- Watch: keep separate delivery groups for marketplace orders and outside contracts.
4 · Multi-vertical town marketplace
Like: one app for a smaller town: food trucks, a florist like Bloom & Stem, a pharmacy, and beauty supplies.
- Categories: one per vertical, with distinct icons so customers browse quickly.
- Stores: different order types per store: pickup only for some, delivery for others.
- Schedules: food trucks change location and hours often; their owners update them in the Business App.
- Growth: gift cards for florists and holidays, featured stores for local events.
