Payment Overview

Ordering projects can offer offline methods, such as cash or card on delivery, and online methods provided by configured payment gateways.

Offline methods do not perform an online gateway transaction. Online behavior varies by paymethod and may use a direct token, redirect, callback, or an additional confirmation step. The cart records paymethod_id and operation-specific paymethod_data; never place secret gateway keys or reusable credentials in frontend code, examples, or logs.
